DIGITAL ASYLUM EDITORIAL has helped put Edgar A. Poe's epic poem of love and loss, Annabel Lee on the screen for the first time as an animated story.

Annabel Lee was post produced on various computers in the DIGITAL ASYLUM EDITORIAL studios. The initial 16mm film footage was transferred to beta video stock then converted into digital images in Final Cut Pro's non-linear editing system. The story pushed the application to its limits resulting initially in tens of video tracks and dozens of audio tracks.

The title sequence and graphics were also designed and produced at the DAE studio, utilizing everything from Metacreation's Logomotion to Adobe After Effects software. The audio was completed on the studio's Pro Tools station and the rest of the compositing was finished on Puffin's CommotionDV and Discreet Logic's *effect software.

Editor, Sound Designer and Compositer, Tony Pellegrino has been working professionally for almost twenty years and has many awards to his credit. He has known director George Higham since their college days in the late 80's. With their collaboration as producers of Annabel Lee, they have embarked on a dream of producing high quality artistic works that challenge the everyday norms of the medium.

DIGITAL ASYLUM EDITORIAL's future lies in maintaining its independent spirit and cutting edge vision. The facility will be expanding next year once again to include Avid Media Composer, DVD Studio Pro authoring software and hardware and box, label, poster and graphics design to its all-in-one post production experience. In addition DAE plans to be producing and co-producing various independent feature films.
